Racism, STILL Alive & Doing Well!

While many black Americans have achieved some success, far too many continue to feel the stinging effects of racism. And well if you have to ask, just try being black in America (yes even in 2012!).

A recent poll suggest that blacks and whites have different views when it comes to racial progress, treatment and opportunity. Is there really any doubt about those differences? After all, one only needs to travel throughout most American cities and rural towns where African Americans live to witness the social, economic, and political disparities. In fact key examples of disparities are in arrest statistics, incarceration rates and of course the fact that 1 in every 3 black males has (or at least has had) contact with the criminal justice system (including probation and parole). Well I could go on and on.

However, another interesting tidbit is that Black America is hopefully not delusional about one man being able to tackle ALL of Black Americas problems or as one presidential candidate said, "we [black Americans] need to take responsibility."
